The Norris helmet design
The base colour has not changed since his karting days. Norris has said that he has always used fluorescent yellow because it is his favourite colour; Bell Racing, whose helmets he has used continuously since 2015, traces the choice to his childhood idol, nine-time motorcycle world champion Valentino Rossi. His first karting helmet already carried a large sun on each side, a nod to Rossi’s sun-and-moon design.
From 2024 the yellow is paired with black in the fluid “blob” motif that has become his signature: rounded shapes flowing over the shell rather than stripes or panels. The 2025 season version kept the same pattern with small adjustments, his racing number 4 on the crown and the LN logo on the sides. Read on a display shelf, the yellow works as a single block of colour, with the black shapes giving the shell its movement.
Around that base runs a long series of one-off Grand Prix designs. Past specials have turned the helmet into a basketball, a beach scene, a disco glitterball and an iridescent blue-green-purple surface for Abu Dhabi, alongside a half-and-half vintage-and-chrome scheme for Monaco and tributes to Japanese culture and Italian pizza. The 2026 season follows the same rhythm: a liquid-chrome swirl over fluo yellow for Silverstone, a Valentino Rossi tribute in navy and fluorescent yellow-green for Monza, and a pop-art comic panel for the Madrid race. Born on 13 November 1999 in Bristol, England, Lando Norris made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix and has driven for the team ever since. His first Grand Prix win came at Miami in 2024, on his 110th start, ahead of Max Verstappen.
In 2025 he won the Drivers’ World Championship, sealed with third place at the Abu Dhabi finale and a margin of two points over Verstappen — his first title, in his seventh season, and the eighth for a McLaren driver. 123Helmets has no affiliation with or endorsement from teams, drivers or rights holders; our replicas are display replicas.
